Causes of the leak.
With this issue dirt and debris have collected in the valve cartridge which prevents the valve from properly controlling the flow of water.
Follow these steps to fix a two handle cartridge faucet.
Step 2 use a flat screwdriver and use a prying motion to remove the decorative cap on top of the handle.
Faucet is leaking or dripping from the handle.
If water is still dripping you need to replace the cold stem right handle.
With this leak water will leak from the area where the handle attaches to the faucet body after the water has been turned off or while the faucet is still on.
Remove the retaining clip or nut.
Continuous leak when faucet is on or off.
When the faucet is on or off water leaks from under the handle area.
Causes of the leak.
The valve cartridge is located under the handle.
Step 1 turn off the water to the faucet under the sink.
If water is dripping from the faucet turn off the hot water supply valve under the sink.
If water is leaking from underneath the handle onto the counter the stem of whichever handle is leaking needs to be replaced.
First determine the source of the leak.
